The leadership of the South African chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party of Nigeria has appointed Mr Sylvester Goerge to serve as the new National Deputy Secretary.
The Pere of Tuomo Kingdom in Burutu local government area of Delta State, HRM (Justice) Francis Tabai, JSC (rtd), Pere Esuku 1, has congratulated the Delta State governor-elect, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on his victory at the 2023 general elections in the state. Tabai sent his congratulatory message, yesterday, with special thanks to Deltans for voting Oborevwori in as the next governor, stressing that Deltans were awaiting earnestly massive economic, social and infrastructural development in the state. The monarch tasked the incoming governor to give equal attention to all parts of the state, especially areas in dire need of infrastructural and social development in the government’s distribution of democracy dividends. The police in Delta state have arrested and detained police officers caught on camera assaulting a woman in Agbarho, a community in the state. In the viral video, the officers could be seen assaulting a woman and almost stripping her naked. The video sparked outrage online as Nigerians condemned the actions of the male officers. In a statement released by its spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, the command said it is aware of a video recording that has since gone viral on various social media platforms of some policemen manhandling a woman in a dehumanizing manner. ‘’After a careful examination of the video clip, it is clear and obvious that the policemen acted in an unprofessional manner unbecoming of police officers.
