$2.4b unremitted oil fund: Nigerian Reps summon Finance Minister, SGF, and Malami

  The House of Representatives Ad hoc Committee investigating the alleged loss of over $2.4 billion in revenue from illegal sale of 48 million barrels of crude oil in 2015, has summoned Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed,    Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, and the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, to appear before as part of its ongoing investigation.   The panel is also probing all oil exports and sales from 2014 till date, with the invitees expected to provide details of remittances into the Federation Account and come up with recommendations for legislative work on the Whistle Blower Protection Bill current before the lower legislative chamber.   The panel which issued the sum­mon on Tuesday, April 11, at an investigative hearing on the subject matter also slammed Oriental Energy Limited with a one-week ultima­tum to provide all necessary details regarding its involvement in crude oil lifting and sal...

Arsenal's in-form striker Folarin Balogun set to snub Nigeria for USA National Team

 Arsenal Super Eagles might not be able to get Arsenal on loan striker, Folarin Balogun as US caretaker coach, Anthony Hudson has confirmed that American officials have met with the player amid speculation he could pledge his international future to the United States. Recall that Balogun’s international future has been a topic of discussion recently after England manager, Gareth Southgate snubbed him during a call up to the national team despite the on-loan Reims being the second highest goal scorer in Ligue one with Reims. Balogun born in New York moved to England as a two-year-old, but his parents are from Nigeria. He could represent the United States, England and Nigeria, the country of his parents birth.
