Tricycle and Motorcycle fees in Delta state



 UPDATE: Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has authorized the discontinuation of the collection of any type of fees from Tricycle and Motorcycle Riders in Delta State. This will remain in effect until the current review of existing fees and levies is completed. 


As a result, all Tricycle and Motorcycle Riders in Delta State are advised not to make any payments of fees to any individual or group until further notice.

NLC suspends planned strike over naira scarcity for two weeks

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress(TUC)  have suspended their planned strike over naira scarcity. The two unions said they would monitor the availability of cash in commercial banks for two weeks before deciding on the next line of action. The strike would have started today. Presidents of the  NLC, Joe Ajaero and TUC, Festus Osifo,  announced the decision during a news conference after their National Executive Council meetings in Abuja yesterday. But the scarcity of cash has yet to abate in Enugu, Enugu State and Onitsha in Anambra State. In Onitsha for instance, policemen attached to one of the commercial banks had to fire into the air to disperse angry customers. S ome of the customers sustained injuries while scampering to safety. Domestic worker to die by hanging in Lagos

  The Ikeja High Court on Monday, March 27, sentenced a domestic staff, Joseph Ogbu, to death by hanging for killing his 89-year-old employer, Ajoke John and her daughter, Oreoluwa John, 38, in Lagos.    The convict, who hails from Oju Local Govt Area of Benue State, brutally murdered the victims at their residence at Number 4 Ogunlana Drive in Surulere, on June 19, 2019, 24 hours after he was employed.    Justice Modupe Nicole-Clay held that the prosecution had sufficiently proven the three-count charge bordering on armed robbery and murder against the convict.    Nicole-Clay held that the defendant confessed to the crime as he admitted to living with the deceased and was the only witness of the incident.    "He killed Adejoke by strangling her and Oreoluwa by stabbing her to death. NDLEA Arrests Businessman, Intercepts Brazil-bound Cocaine, Meth and others

  Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested a businessman, Molokwu Nwachukwu, who frequents China, Dubai, Pakistan, and Vietnam, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja Lagos for concealing thirty-six (36) parcels of cocaine in different parts of his check-in bags, hand luggage and two pairs of slippers, while heading to Southeast Asia. Molokwu was arrested at the screening point of the MMIA Terminal 2 while attempting to board his flight to Vietnam on Wednesday 22nd March. A total of thirty-six parcels of whitish powdery substance that tested positive to Cocaine with a gross weight of 1.00 kilogram were recovered from the handles of his bags and soles of two pairs of slippers in his luggage. The suspect claims he travels frequently to China, Dubai, Pakistan and Vietnam, from where he imports baby wears he distributes from his Onitsha, Anambra state base.
